In a major upgrade of its operations, Casablanca has recently inaugurated its first retail space at home base Paris. The fashion brand, founded only in 2019 by Charaf Tajer, has since gone leaps and bounds, garnering leading stockist across the planet with its fun-infused, luxed-up leisurewear styles. The Casablanca flagship store occupies no less than 460 sqm. (4,951 sq.ft.) spread across three floors of a building alongside rue due Faubourg St.-Honoré, known to be one of the city’s most prestigious shopping arteries. Designed by both Tajer and Casablanca‘s art director and creative lead Steve Grimes, the retail space is an extrapolation of its signature style and more, playfully blending in classic wall mouldings, futuristic ceilings and lighting, and mosaic flooring that references classical Greek antiquity.
Furnishings and fixtures include a series of display units which mimic the large arched windows, matching sleek furnishings, a wall-mounted display of white marble and lacquered timber which is inspired by a tennis court and Carlo Scarpa’s architecture, two of Tajer’s avid interests. In contrast with the gradient blue walls downstairs and all-white upper floor, the basement section is mote intimate, featuring carpet flooring in green which even runs up the walls where it’s met by shiny metal panels. Similar to the upper floors, large ceiling lights optically enlarge the setting. The new Casablanca store carries the brand’s full range of men’s, women’s and kids apparel, accessories, bags, shoes, eyewear and jewellery pieces. Mind you, the brand’s next retail space is scheduled to open later this summer in Los Angeles, while more stores are planned in other global shopping destinations. © superfuture
