Amidst rapid growth, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) envisioned a Bengaluru workplace that echoed its global ethos and commitment to sustainability. Designed by Zyeta in collaboration with Cushman & Wakefield, the resulting space is a harmonious blend of nature, culture, and functionality.
The design takes cues from Bengaluru’s green heritage, integrating biophilic principles through bamboo, cane, rattan, and reclaimed wood. Zen gardens, acoustic nooks, and lush elements foster tranquility and productivity, while carbon-neutral materials underscore MUFG’s environmental values.
A ripple ceiling in the reception mirrors sun-dappled water, guiding visitors into an immersive, park-like experience. Organic textures, warm lighting, and arched rattan screens create a flow from engagement zones to collaborative hubs.
The workspace evolves into dynamic neighborhoods with swing seats, biophilic buffers, and café-style cafeterias. Even meeting rooms, while formal, maintain visual ties to the outdoors, ensuring the entire space resonates with the ‘open-in-nature’ narrative.
More than just a place to work, MUFG’s Bengaluru office stands as a sanctuary, one that rejuvenates, inspires, and fosters a deep sense of belonging. It’s a testament to how design can go beyond function to tell a story, the one rooted in place, people, and purpose.
