UrbanWorks Architecture Offices

UrbanWorks Architecture’s Minneapolis office blends timeless aesthetics with modern functionality, celebrating the space’s character through exposed materials while fostering collaboration and adaptability for an enduring workplace.

Our architecture office was envisioned as a dynamic, enduring workspace designed to adapt for years to come. The layout celebrates the building’s character—exposed brick, weathered columns, and timber beams—paired with a minimal, modern material palette of black, white, and warm wood. Functionality and equity are central, with identical sit-stand workstations for all staff, arranged around shared collaboration tables. Spaces transition naturally from public zones—such as the entry, gathering areas, and flexible meeting spaces—to quieter focus rooms and workstations.

Key features include three strategically placed design elements that house enclosed areas, including conference rooms and a sleek kitchen anchoring the office’s social heart. Sliding glass walls provide adaptable layouts, seamlessly accommodating hybrid work sessions or large gatherings. The completed space balances timeless aesthetics with practicality, creating a warm, welcoming environment—a backdrop where people and projects take center stage.
