The relaxed urban silhouettes of designer Alexandre Mattiussi strike a chord with a savvy, young demographic across the planet, but it’s especially in Asia where his popularity is rising fastest. Following a string of stores in established luxury markets such as Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong and China, Mattiussi’s AMI label is expanding its footprint elsewhere, opening up shop in Bangkok, Manila, and now also in the bustling Indonesian capital Jakarta. Here, the boutique is a collaborative effort with local retail company Time International whose portfolio is brimming with international luxury brands. Nestled on the ground floor of Plaza Senayan, one of the city’s leading upscale shopping centres, the 90 sqm. (969 sq.ft.) retail space features design codes as laid down by Mattiussi and which adorn all AMI boutiques across the planet. A palette of French natural material, such as Euville lime stone, natural oak, and champagne-gold finishes is captured by window displays, cabinets, and recessed shelving. Suspended brass clothing racks offer ample display space for garments, while also adding a little shine to the setting. The new AMI store carries men’s and women’s apparel, accessories and bags. © superfuture
